Premier League teams are in a hurry to finalize important transfers before the summer window closes on Tuesday at 23:00 BST. Several big deals are still up in the air.

According to BBC Sport on Monday, some of the top players who might move before the deadline include Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, and Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo.

Julian Alvarez’s future at Atletico Madrid is not clear. Arsenal and Barcelona are both showing interest in the Argentina international.

Atletico does not want to sell Alvarez to Barcelona but is willing to negotiate with Arsenal. The Spanish club is reportedly asking for about €150m (£128m) for the 26-year-old.

Alvarez has missed some training sessions and was not included in Atletico’s squad to face Sevilla. This has fueled more talk about his future.

Manchester City is keeping an eye on Enzo Fernandez, as the Chelsea midfielder’s future looks uncertain.

Fernandez missed Chelsea’s Premier League win over Brighton on Sunday. There could be a big offer from City for him.

A transfer would likely set a new record for Manchester City, following their £116m signing of Elliot Anderson earlier this summer.

If Fernandez leaves Stamford Bridge, Chelsea might look at Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara as his replacement.

The Senegal international has already played 49 times for his country. He could be Chelsea’s 13th new signing this summer.

Chelsea is also expected to be active on deadline day. Several players could leave the club on permanent or loan deals.

Manchester City has started talks with Liverpool about Cody Gakpo. The Netherlands forward is reportedly open to the move.

City plans to offer around £85m, and Tottenham is also interested. Gakpo is said to prefer a move to Manchester City.

But Liverpool will only agree to the deal if they can sign another attacking player in addition to Bradley Barcola.
