Yoruba Quiz Show Host Hints at Featuring President Tinubu

The creator and host of the famous Yoruba language quiz show, Masoyinbo, Olalekan Fabilola, has suggested that President Bola Tinubu might appear on the show. He shared a fan's request on his X handle, asking him to feature the Nigerian leader.

Fabilola, known as “Ọlálékàn,” posted the fan's message on Saturday. He mentioned that he receives similar requests from fans every day.

“I get message like this every day, at least 20 a day, nothing is impossible. Baba @officialABAT @NGRPresident,” he said.

The post showed a screenshot of a message from a fan that read, “Oluko, e jowo e ba wa gbe President Bola Tinubu wa si Masoyinbo.” This translates to, “Teacher, please bring President Bola Tinubu to Masoyinbo.”

Fabilola did not confirm if Tinubu would be on the show. But his response, “Nothing is impossible,” got people talking. Many followers saw it as a hint that the invitation might happen.

Masoyinbo means “Don’t Speak English.” It is a Yoruba language game show created and hosted by Fabilola. The show aims to promote the use of the Yoruba language and culture.

The show challenges contestants to answer 10 questions only in Yoruba. They cannot use English or any foreign languages. Contestants who finish the challenge can win a cash prize.

Masoyinbo has had many well-known Nigerians as guests. These include actress Funke Akindele, rapper Falz, comedian Ali Baba, actors Femi Adebayo and Lateef Adedimeji, and Fuji musician Saheed Osupa.

The show is broadcast on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and DStv. Masoyinbo has become popular for mixing entertainment with efforts to keep Yoruba language and culture alive.
