Tinubu May Join Yoruba Quiz Show, Says Host

The creator and host of the Yoruba quiz show Masoyinbo, Olalekan Fabilola, has hinted that President Bola Tinubu might appear on the show. This comes after he shared a request from a fan asking him to feature the president on the programme.

Fabilola, who is popularly known as “Ọlálékàn,” posted the fan's request on his X handle on Saturday. He mentioned that he gets similar requests from fans daily.

“I get messages like this every day, at least 20 a day, nothing is impossible. Baba @officialABAT @NGRPresident,” he wrote.

Along with his post, Fabilola shared a screenshot of a message from a fan. The message read, “Oluko, e jowo e ba wa gbe President Bola Tinubu wa si Masoyinbo,” which means, “Teacher, please bring President Bola Tinubu to Masoyinbo.”

Fabilola did not confirm if Tinubu would feature on the show. His reply, “Nothing is impossible,” got followers talking. Many saw it as a sign that the invitation could take place.

Masoyinbo means “Don’t Speak English.” Fabilola created and hosts this Yoruba language game show to promote the Yoruba language and culture.

The show tests contestants with 10 questions that they must answer in Yoruba only. They cannot use English or any other foreign languages. Contestants who succeed can win a cash prize.

Masoyinbo has had many well-known Nigerians as guests. Some of them include actress Funke Akindele, rapper Falz, comedian Ali Baba, actors Femi Adebayo and Lateef Adedimeji, and Fuji musician Saheed Osupa.

The show airs on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and DStv. Masoyinbo is popular for mixing entertainment with efforts to keep the Yoruba language and culture alive.
