Actor Adewale Elesho, who just finished his term as President of the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners, has had a successful surgery for a facial injury.
Oluwafemi Adejonwo, known as Femson, shared this news on Facebook on Sunday.
People started worrying about Elesho's health after they saw a noticeable injury on his face during the funeral of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, who is also known as Ogogo, in Ilaro, Ogun State.
This injury led to many rumors online, with some suggesting he might have skin cancer.
The ANTP confirmed that the surgery went well and that Elesho is stable and recovering.
The association stated, "In recent days, there have been several posts on social media concerning the health of our dear brother, Prince Adewale Adeoye ELESHO, the immediate past President of the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners, ANTP, with many speculations including skin cancer. We hereby confirm that the operation was successful. He is stable and recuperating well."
In a follow-up message, Femson said, "By God’s grace, his operation was successful. He is doing well and recovering. Thank you all for the calls, prayers and concern. We appreciate you. Continue to pray for his speedy recovery."
The association did not reveal the exact details of Elesho's surgery or confirm if he has skin cancer.
They asked the public to keep praying for the actor’s quick recovery.
