Arsenal has agreed with Turkish Super Lig team Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Belgian forward Leandro Trossard. The Premier League club shared this news on Tuesday.
In their statement, Arsenal said: "We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard."
The club also mentioned that "with a transfer fee agreed, Leo, 31, has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig club."
They noted that more information would come after the transfer process is done. They added, "We will provide a further update once the transfer has been completed."
This transfer is likely to end Trossard’s time at Arsenal, as long as he passes the medical and finishes other transfer steps.
Trossard joined Arsenal in January 2023. The North London club officially introduced him as a new player that month.
The 28-year-old forward became Arsenal’s first signing of the January transfer window after moving from Brighton and Hove Albion. The deal was worth £27 million, including add-ons.
According to Punch Online, Trossard leaves Arsenal as a Premier League champion. He helped the Gunners win their first English top-flight title in 22 years last season.
He also won the FA Community Shield with Arsenal in 2023. Trossard played an important part in the club’s journey to the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final.
On the international side, Trossard shone for Belgium in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup. He scored two goals against New Zealand in the group stage, helping the Red Devils reach the quarter-finals, where they lost 2-1 to Spain, who made it to the finals.
Meanwhile, Besiktas welcomed the winger with a photo on their website on Tuesday. They captioned it, "Leandro Trossard arrives in Istanbul."
