Chiamaka Nnadozie Named Best Goalkeeper in WSL

Brighton goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has finished the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League season with the highest save percentage. This marks her first season in England as the top shot-stopper, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

The WSL released official league statistics on Monday. Nnadozie recorded a save percentage of 74.7 per cent. This is the highest among all goalkeepers who played at least 10 league matches this season.

Nnadozie just beat Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton, who came second with 74.6 per cent. Manchester United’s Phallon Tullis-Joyce finished third with 73.6 per cent.

In her debut WSL season, the 25-year-old faced 83 shots on target over 19 league matches. She saved 62 of those shots, proving she is one of the league’s most dependable goalkeepers. This is impressive for her first season in one of the toughest women’s leagues in the world.

Her great performances helped Brighton stay competitive against the strongest teams. They even reached the Women’s FA Cup final, where they lost to Manchester City.

Nnadozie kept six clean sheets, which is the joint fourth-highest in the WSL. She also prevented about 3.3 goals, showing her skill in making tough saves and keeping her team in the games.

Earlier this season, she won the WSL Save of the Month award. This was for a fantastic fingertip save against Liverpool. That save also put her on the shortlist for the league’s Save of the Season award.

Nnadozie is a three-time CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year. She is currently in the Super Falcons camp in Casablanca, Morocco. The team is getting ready to defend its Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title.
