Femi Azeez Moves to Brighton with Four-Year Contract

Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez has moved from Millwall to the Premier League. He signed a four-year deal with Brighton and Hove Albion FC for an undisclosed fee.

The transfer went through after both clubs submitted a deal sheet before the 11pm deadline on Monday. This extended the transfer window until 1am on Tuesday to finalize the details.

Mike Cave, the club’s sporting director, is happy about Azeez joining the team. He called him one of the most exciting attacking players in the Championship.

“We are delighted to add Femi to the squad. He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs.

“He was one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Championship, and we’re delighted to have finally agreed his transfer. We’re now looking forward to working with him,” Cave said.

Azeez, who is 25, made 77 appearances for Millwall. He scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists during his time there.

His move to the Premier League is a big step in his rise through English football.

He started his career at Watford but moved to non-league football with Northwood. He then played for Wealdstone and Hanwell Town before joining Reading in 2019.

Azeez signed with Millwall in 2024 and had his best season last year. He helped the club reach the Championship playoffs.

His performance got him noticed, and he was named in both the PFA and EFL Championship Teams of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign.

Azeez's success also includes his international career. He made his senior debut for Nigeria earlier this year.

He made an impact right away, scoring both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Zimbabwe on his debut in June.

He followed that by providing an assist in his next game as Nigeria beat Jamaica 3-0 four days later.

Now, Azeez is ready to take the next step in his career in the Premier League, after an amazing journey from youth football and non-league to the top level of English football.
