Hull City and Aston Villa Share Points in Goalless Draw

Hull City kept their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a goalless draw against Aston Villa at the MKM Stadium on Saturday.

The 0-0 result means Hull has now gone three matches without conceding a league goal. For Villa, things remain tough as Unai Emery's team is still searching for their first goal of the season.

Hull nearly took the lead in the second half when Mohamed Belloumi's curling shot hit the crossbar.

Villa had a clear chance to score but Emiliano Buendía missed from close range after receiving a pass from George Hemmings.

Despite Villa trying to take control of the match, Hull's defense stood firm, getting another clean sheet as they continue their impressive start after returning to the top flight.

The Tigers kicked off their season with a 2-0 win over Manchester United and followed that with a 1-0 victory against Coventry City. The draw against Villa now gives them seven points from their first three league matches.

For Villa, picking up a point did little to ease their early-season struggles.

Emery's team lost their first two league games, suffering a 4-0 defeat to Brighton and a 1-0 loss at home to Arsenal. They came into the match against Hull without a point or a goal, and they had not managed to have a shot on target in their first two games.

While Villa's defense showed improvement at Hull, they still struggled to turn their possession and chances into goals.

Hull, on the other hand, continued to show strong defensive skills that have marked their return to the Premier League.

This result pushed the Tigers to second in the league table. Villa picked up their first point of the season but still have not scored in three matches.

Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic had talked about the importance of their busy summer recruitment before the game, emphasizing the competition within his squad.

"Finally finished, thank God! Now we can concentrate on our job," Jakirovic said about the transfer window before the match.

He added, "I am pleased because we have worked very hard this last two months, a lot of calls, a lot of negotiations with players. We always had our plan to bring quality that we can improve our team but don’t forget also we lost 12 players from last season, so we needed these players."

So far, this work has led to a Hull side that has not conceded a league goal in their first three matches.

Villa will need to find a way to improve their attack quickly, as the pressure on Emery and his new squad continues to build.

After a match that lacked attacking excitement, Hull will be happy with their clean sheet, while Villa leaves with a point but faces another frustrating day without a goal.
