Liverpool is showing strong interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. The club is getting ready to make an initial bid as they want to boost their attack after Mohamed Salah's exit.
According to BBC Sport on Wednesday, Liverpool has picked Barcola as their top choice to fill Salah's spot. Salah left the club at the end of last season after a successful time at Anfield.
Barcola, who is 23 years old, has a price tag of around £145 million set by PSG. This amount would break the current British transfer record. But Liverpool is hoping to negotiate a deal closer to £100 million.
The winger has two years left on his contract with the French team. He is said to be open to moving to Liverpool for a new challenge, as he has slipped down the ranking at PSG.
Liverpool’s pursuit of Barcola comes as they look for attacking players ahead of the new season. Initially, the Reds considered RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, but he is now likely to move to Real Madrid.
Barcola has made a name for himself as one of Europe's exciting young talents since joining PSG. He is known for his speed, direct style, and ability to play in various attacking positions.
Liverpool is now set to test PSG's determination with an opening offer. They are focused on reshaping the team and finding a long-term replacement for Salah.
