Man United Sells Pieces of Historic Old Trafford Pitch

Manchester United is selling pieces of the famous Old Trafford pitch. Each 7x7cm section costs £125, according to BBC Sport on Thursday.

The first batch of turf, kept in glass cubes and shown in a black case, has already sold out.

This sale comes as United revealed that their total debt is still above £1 billion.

The club made record revenue of £677.6 million and an operating profit of £22.6 million for the 2025-26 financial year. Still, they reported a pre-tax loss of £43 million.

United also mentioned that £63.5 million was spent on buying land for a new stadium. This project is expected to cost over £2 billion.

The Old Trafford pitch was dug up this summer for the first time in 14 years. It was stripped back to its base.

Parts of the turf were kept as memorabilia for fans.

The club calls the glass cubes a “priceless memento” of iconic games played at Old Trafford. They say it helps keep matchday memories alive.

This sale gives fans a chance to own a small piece of the ground. Old Trafford has seen generations of Manchester United players and some of the club’s most unforgettable matches.
