Nnadi chooses not to have surgery for quick comeback

Marseille midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi has decided not to have immediate surgery on his knee. He wants to get back on the pitch as soon as possible after his injury.

The Nigeria international hurt his knee just after coming on as a substitute in Marseille's match against Monaco. Neal Maupay replaced him after the injury.

Medical staff checked Nnadi after he left the stadium. Reports say doctors suggested he should have surgery right away to fix the issue. But the midfielder has picked a different path, hoping this will help him recover faster and get back to playing.

His agent, Timur Daguev, shared that they had many talks with doctors, the club, and Nnadi’s family before making this choice.

“After Nnadi’s injury, we spent several days discussing with the doctors, the team, and his entourage to determine the best decision to make. Many advised him to have surgery immediately. That was undoubtedly the safest option, but it also meant being away from the field and the team for several months. We made a different decision,” Daguev told La Provence.

Daguev also mentioned that Nnadi is eager to keep supporting his teammates even with this setback.

“He cannot abandon the club at a time like this. He cannot remain a spectator when he knows he can still fight and help his teammates, the coach, and the fans during this difficult period. Since his arrival, the coach has believed in Nnadi. He has trusted him and supported him. He feels he must contribute right now,” Daguev said.

Nnadi will now focus on his recovery plan. He hopes that this conservative treatment will help him get back to full fitness without a long time away from the game.
