PENTY Makes Comeback with ‘Aigbagbo Bila’ After 18 Years

After 18 years away from music, UK-based Nigerian artist Oluwashola Mamora, known as PENTY, is bringing back his 2008 hit song ‘Aigbagbo Bila’.

The song was a big hit on Nigerian radio and TV when it first came out. PENTY re-recorded it and released it on major streaming platforms on Friday, September 4, 2026, which is also his birthday.

PENTY shared that ‘Aigbagbo Bila’ received a lot of playtime on radio. It was also featured on TV and in interviews, along with coverage in newspapers and magazines, during the early part of his career.

Unfortunately, he lost all the master files and backup copies of the song, which stopped the song’s success. He said, “No video was ever shot,” because the song came out before social media became popular.

Since the master recording was lost, ‘Aigbagbo Bila’ lived on mostly in the memories of listeners. PENTY also kept a low profile for many years. During this time, there were even rumors that he had died while on a prayer retreat.

Now, almost two decades later, PENTY is back with a completely re-recorded version of the song. He calls this a “rebirth” instead of a remix.

He believes this new version will start a fresh chapter in his music career. PENTY has more singles planned for release soon.

Some of the upcoming songs include ‘Hustle,’ ‘Eledumare,’ which features three artists, ‘My Land (Nigeria),’ and ‘Akunleyan.’ Fans can expect these new releases starting from mid-October.

PENTY, who is signed to Diamond Projects and Records Company Limited, describes his music as faith-based, inspirational, and alternative. He blends Yoruba and English to reach audiences both in Nigeria and abroad.
