Kano Pillars got their first win with coach Daniel Ogunmodede on Sunday. They beat Niger Tornadoes 3-2 in an exciting NPFL match at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
Pillars started strong with Ubong Friday scoring in the 40th minute. Fabian Nworie then made it 2-0 just before halftime.
Nworie scored again nine minutes into the second half, putting Pillars ahead 3-0 in the 54th minute.
Tornadoes fought back with Godfrey Joseph scoring in the 73rd minute to cut the lead. Substitute Wasiu Jimoh scored the last goal in the 90th minute.
Despite the late goals from Tornadoes, Pillars held on to win. This victory gives Ogunmodede his first win since becoming the coach of the team.
