Rangers knocked out of Europa League after draw with Polish team

Rangers’ difficult start to the season continued with a 1-1 draw at Ibrox against Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok on Thursday. This result means they are out of the Europa League in the third qualifying round.

After losing 2-1 in the first leg, the Scottish team began well. International striker Lawrence Shankland scored his first goal for Rangers from the penalty spot. They played better in the first half.

New manager Derek McInnes made several changes in the second half. This seemed to upset the team's rhythm.

After 65 minutes, the Polish team equalized. They were now 3-2 ahead on aggregate when Nik Prelec jumped above two defenders at the back post. He scored from a cross by Anders Klynge.

Bojan Miovski had a chance to save the night for Rangers. He headed wide from just six yards after a cross from Findlay Curtis.

This result means McInnes, whose team received boos at the end, is still looking for his first win after four matches in charge.

Now, Rangers must beat Czech team Jablonec to keep their European campaign alive in the Conference League.
