Sevilla has loaned striker Rafa Mir to Greek club Aris Thessaloniki. This move comes after Mir was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison for sexual assault and bodily harm in June.

The 29-year-old Spanish forward is appealing the court's decision. A Valencia court gave the verdict following a trial in May.

Sevilla confirmed the loan deal and said, "The deal includes an option to buy."

The events that led to the conviction happened on September 1, 2024, at Mir's home in Betera, a town in Valencia. This followed a night out where he and a friend met two women in a nightclub.

Mir started his career at Valencia's youth academy. He moved to Premier League club Wolves in 2018. Sevilla signed him in 2021, and he was loaned back to Valencia in July 2024.

He was arrested in September 2024 and received a two-match suspension from Valencia. Mir spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Elche. He has also played for Spain at youth levels.
