Social media star and self-styled financial expert, Ojaigho Prosper, known as GehGeh, has said women who criticise him online often act differently when they see him in real life. He claims he gets more attention from women in person than from men.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, GehGeh talked about how he became famous on social media. He said he started this journey to share real-life financial lessons instead of just seeking likes and followers.
He explained, “I was simply coming from a place where I wanted to share my experiences because I felt I had enough knowledge and life experiences to share with people.”
GehGeh remembered that one of his first viral videos was about why it could be better to rent an apartment instead of building a house. He noted that many people connected with this idea. The video gained more attention after music producer Don Jazzy shared it.
He said his fame took him by surprise. He only realized how influential he was when people started stopping him in public to tell him how his content changed their lives.
But his views on relationships and masculinity often attract criticism. Some people say he promotes misogynistic ideas. He rejected this label, saying the backlash usually comes from people's insecurities.
“I have noticed that women don’t like my advice online because many of them feel that if their husbands or boyfriends watch my videos, they may stop giving them money the way they used to,” he said.
Despite this, GehGeh said his real-life experiences tell a different story. “When women see me in real life, they approach me more than men do. The way they react to me online and in person are two completely opposite things,” he shared.
GehGeh also defended his views on financial discipline in relationships. He explained that his content started with personal finance before shifting to relationship advice.
“I realised that a lot of the financial problems men face come from investing in relationships and partners they shouldn’t be investing in,” he said.
When asked about his personal life, he confirmed he has had several relationships. He added that his cultural background allows for polygamy.
He also addressed criticism about his sister’s claim that he does not support her financially. He insisted that his philosophy on self-reliance extends to family.
“I recently transferred N5m to her,” he said, noting that they both grew up with similar opportunities.
On ongoing discussions about celebrity relationships, GehGeh criticized the engagement between fellow content creators, Peller and Jarvis. He called it unsustainable.
“I swear, it pained me. The boy is constantly performing,” he said, arguing that young relationships based on public attention often struggle in the long run.
