Nollywood actor and comedian Adeshina “Janmole” Oshin has died in a road accident. His death has left colleagues, fans, and the Yoruba movie industry in deep sorrow.

This tragedy comes just days after veteran actor Fesogboye Oyewole passed away. It is another painful loss for Nollywood.

Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr Latin, who is the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), announced Janmole’s death on Tuesday through an Instagram post.

Mr Amusan said that Janmole died in a tragic auto crash, but the details of the accident are not yet clear. He wrote, “May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace.

“May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen.”

Actor Olaiya Akinyemi also confirmed the news, sharing a video from the accident scene on his Instagram page. The video showed a damaged 18-seater bus that was reportedly carrying Janmole at the time of the crash.

“Inalilah Wainalilahi Rojihuna. This is sad. Rest in peace Adeshina Okiki Janmole,” he wrote.

Janmole developed a passion for acting while he was still in primary school. He officially joined the film industry in 1989 after finishing his primary education.

At first, his parents were against his choice to act because he sold goods after school. His acting also affected his mother, who was a trader. In an interview with Feel Right News TV, Janmole said his parents started to support him when they saw how dedicated he was.

Before acting, he trained in furniture making. His first on-screen appearance was in “Àsírí Ológbò.” He later became well-known for the film “Jamonle,” which he produced himself.

Janmole was the first child in his family and came from Kajola Local Government Area in Oyo State. His father was a retired non-teaching staff member at a secondary school.

He also trained for four years in acting and film production under veteran Yoruba actor Rasaq “Ojopagogo” Olayiwola. He often played funny roles, traditional village characters, and action-driven personas in films.

Janmole was famous for movies like “Agunbaniro,” “Ìyàwó Asante,” “Ọgbọ́n Inu,” and “Orogun Adedigba.”
