The wife of Delta State content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, known as Odogwu of Asaba, is defending her husband. She responded to allegations that he raped 20-year-old Favour Agbro, saying he only had an affair with her.

The woman, who did not give her name, shared her thoughts in a video posted on Ogbonna’s page on Wednesday. She insists she will always stand by her husband, despite the claims against him.

The Delta State Police arrested Ogbonna, 40. This was in connection to the alleged rape of Favour, who later died after taking poison.

Police reports say Ogbonna invited Favour to Asaba, claiming he would teach her about content creation. They say he took her to a hotel, where he allegedly raped and assaulted her.

In the video, Ogbonna’s wife strongly denied the rape claim. She said, "Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband… Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl."

She added, "He cannot rape. He has never. Even when he did not have fame, he did not rape anybody, is it now?"

The woman said she has been following the case closely. She wanted to speak out now that she knows more about what happened.

"I am trying to follow the matter the right way; I have not been silent. I want to let you people know that no matter what happened, he is my husband and I stand with him 100%. I’m not going to turn my back on him," she stated.

She also asked people not to take social media comments as the final word on the issue.

"How I feel, what I feel, how I see it is my personal decision. Everything is not actually the way they presented it. Before I could come out to talk, I have learnt a lot about this matter. Social media is not a courtroom. You people should bear that in mind," she added.

The woman recognized Favour’s death as a serious matter. She said that is why she is being careful about how she speaks.

"Yes, someone has died and that is why we are taking it easy. But Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody," she said.

She mentioned that Ogbonna would have a chance to tell his side of the story when he returns.

The woman said she has been married to Ogbonna for eight years and they have four children together.

Earlier, the police reported that Favour traveled to Asaba on June 1, 2026. This was after Ogbonna offered to teach her how to make money from her TikTok and Facebook pages.

According to the police, Favour returned home upset and told her parents about what happened. She later made a video describing her experience.

Afterward, she ingested poison and died while getting treatment.

The police said they arrested Ogbonna after a petition from Favour’s family. They are still investigating the case.

The police later announced that Ogbonna will face charges in court.

Ogbonna has not been found guilty of any crime, and the rape allegation is still under investigation.
