Wikki Tourists FC's Technical Adviser, Bala Abubakar, has made it clear that the club wants to build a strong team to get back into the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Abubakar shared this during the player assessment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi. This information came out in a statement released on Tuesday.
The coach mentioned that every player in the evaluation has a fair chance to join the team. He stressed that only those who show skill, commitment, and readiness will make the final squad.
He also revealed that Wikki Tourists have played six pre-season friendly matches so far, winning four and losing two. He said these matches helped the coaching staff evaluate players and improve the team before the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season.
"Our mission is clear: to return Wikki Tourists to the NPFL. We know what is expected of us, and with Allah's help, and the backing of our management, government, supporters, and all stakeholders, we will reach that goal," Abubakar said.
He added that the coaching staff is focused on picking a team that will make the people of Bauchi proud during the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season.
Wikki Tourists were dropped from the NPFL and will play in the Nigeria National League this season as they aim to return to Nigeria's top league.
