The Lagos State Police has shut down a suspected illegal factory making fake alcoholic drinks in Badagry.
They also arrested a 48-year-old man named Anaebo Hilary at the factory in Yafin, Badagry, Lagos State.
This was shared in a statement on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebesi.
According to the statement, police officers acted on tips from the public that led them to the suspected factory.
The officers found fake alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, different wine labels, and tools used for making and packaging the drinks.
"The operation led to the arrest of Anaebo Emeka Hilary, 'm', 48 years, at Yafin, Badagry, Lagos State, where the suspected illegal factory was located," the statement said.
The police have sealed the factory, and Hilary is now in their custody.
They added that the seized items have been taken to the police station for further investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, praised the officers for their quick action and encouraged residents to keep sharing useful information with the police.
The police reminded the public to reach out through their emergency lines if they suspect any criminal activities.
